Pantone Colour for 2015

So long Radiant Orchid, Pantone has announced Marsala the colour of 2015.  Pantone says the “full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement colour when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colours”, and with a variety of ways to style this colour, we couldn’t agree more.

Although there’s been some hot debate about Pantone’s colour choice, there’s no doubt that Marsala is already making a hit in fashion. Set to be a key colour-trend there are simple ways to incorporate Marsala into your colour scheme.

For a hint of rich colour without full commitment, Marsala looks stunning paired with traditional white on a cake; or as the ink or envelope lining of wedding stationary.  Matched with copper tableware and white cloths, Marsala also adds depth to a tablescape.

Marsala contributes a wonderful pop of velvety rich colour when blended with paler shades, lighter pinks and rich green, enhancing a bouquet or flowered archway.  For a smaller nod to 2015’s biggest trend, use it in your hair by way of a pin or garland, or the groom’s buttonhole.  Alternatively wear it on your lips and nails to stand out against your dress.
